  • The project ‘Irony Detection in Turkish Texts’ developed by BİLGİ Department of Computer Engineering students Yunus Emre Şimşek, Tarık Emre Talay, and Pelin Kaya under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Tuğba Dalyan was entitled to be supported within the scope of 2209-A Research Project Support Programme for Undergraduate Students conducted by TÜBİTAK Science Fellowships and Grant Programme Directorate (BİDEB).

 


 

  • Our Computer Engineering students İlkay Yağız Gür, Yakup Haydar Baba, Melih Önal, Hasan Atabey Ayhan and Deniz Bedran Yıldırım developed an iOS application for ‘Misinformation Detection With AI’ under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Tuğba Dalyan. The students were interviewed by Para Dergi.

 


 

  • We invited our graduate student Müjde Aktaş for the Seminar: “Marie Curie Intelligent Ultrasound: Pattern Recognition of the Heart Disease Characteristics”. She received the BS degree in Computer Engineering at Istanbul Bilgi University and the MS degree also in Computer Engineering from Boğaziçi University. As a PhD student, she is working for the project MARCIUS (Marie Curie Intelligent Ultrasound) that is funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation program. Today, she disseminated her work and experiences as an early-stage researcher as part of the Innovative Training Network. She introduced the MARCIUS project and then narrowed the talk down to my individual research in this project, which focuses on developing custom machine learning pipelines to interpret the echocardiographic examinations of patients with heart diseases. Congratulations for the great effort and thanks for the nice presentation!

 


 

  • We organized meetings with our Computer Engineering students at santralistanbul campus on June 2, 2023 and May 10, 2023 to talk about the evaluation of the term, projects, developments and innovations.

 


 

  • We hosted Bülent Özel, PhD for “Seminar: An agent-based digital twin model of urban trees and parks” on November 17, 2022. Bülent Özel is a co-founder and CEO of Lucidminds AI, a R&D collective based in Amsterdam. Lucidminds create AI frameworks and solutions to tackle societal and climate change-related challenges.

 


 

  • Our graduated students Muhammed Sedef, İbrahim Doğan, Selin Yeşilselve, Kübra Tahaoğlu, Berk Özpınar, Ceren Arslan and Sebahat Kumçöl visited Bilgi University on November 9, 2022 for the event, ‘Sektörde Bilgililer’ to share their experiences in the sector. The event was organized by student clubs Bi’Technology & GDSC Bilgi.

 


 

  • Ahmet Emre Sertdemir, Mehmet Beşenk, Tuğba Dalyan, Dağhan Gökdel, Engin Afacan, “From Image to Simulation An ANN-based Netlist Generator”, International Conference on Synthesis, Modeling, Analysis and Simulation Methods, and Applications to Circuit Design (SMACD), 12-15 June 2022, Sardinia, Italy.

 


 

  • Our graduated student Utku Şen presented his work entitled “Generating Personalized Wordlists With NLP by Analyzing Tweets”, in DEF CON 27 (Packet Hacking Village), August 9-11, 2019 at Las Vegas, USA. Congrats!

 


 

  • Our student Mesut Samet Ronaer together with Tuğba Yıldız had interview on walking simulation in the famous paintings as his BsC thesis. Details.

 



  • Our graduate student Oğulcan Gök together with Tuğba Yıldız had interview on his BsC thesis entitled “Detecting the semantic shifts of words used in song lyrics since 1950”. Congrats!

  • On the 20th of April, our Free Software student club organized a Django workshop with the help of our lovely instructor Tuğba Yıldız We humbly thank every single participant for sparing their time and attending a workshop on Saturday morning with us.

 


 

  • In Tübitak 2242 Undergraduate Students Software Projects Competititon which had taken place in Süleyman Demirel Kültür Merkezi @ İTÜ between 08-10th of October 2018, the students Emirhan Kutlu from Computer Engineering Department and Cenk Anıl Bahçevan from Business Informatics Department were awarded with 2nd place for their works titled AVICENA: Health Bot under the category of Open-Source Software Implementations, with counseling from our academic member Asisstant Prof. Tuğba Yıldız. We congratulate our students and wish them continued success.
